Winter 3

Image
For this version of my greater series, I wanted to try something new. These photos, inspired by Yayoi Kasuma, are multimedia, but in a different way. The polka dots are in the photo and not added in later. This creates a surreal art ~vibe~. With my resources, I was only able to produce closer headshot portraits. I hope to develop this series further, perhaps with different models and colors.

Winter 2

For this installment of my series inspired by Yayoi Kusama, I closely imitated this self-portrait of Kasuma at a table with cup and dishes on it. She utilizes two colors—red and blue. To make the subjects of the photos pop, they're left untouched by the marker. The background is tightly packed with strategically placed, squiggly lines and polka dots. These photos were taken on a 35mm disposable camera.

Winter 1

My winter series was inspired by Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese contemporary artist. She is known for her sculptures and installments, but I'm pulling inspiration from her multimedia photography pieces. She takes b/w photos of herself and draws on them with colored markers. I used the exact same technique. These photos of me, my friends, and my family are taken on a disposable film camera. I printed these photos out on plain printer paper and drew over them to emulate the same zine-esque vibe
