Double Exposure

Image
This series has been split into two parts. This first two are photos of two shop windows from different angles/ distances, layered on top of each other to create a dynamic picture. The second part of the series consists of photos of ben taken in the same place. When they're layered over each other, Ben's movement is captured and he appears ghost-like.

Me, myself, and I

"electric cobweb" "entangled patriotism" "the roof is off limits" "human or dog?" "dark against light"

Reflections

Image
I wanted to capture reflections of buildings in shop windows which contained mannequins and a variety of other objects. To morph these two worlds separated by glass together, I put my photos in back and white. In order to make sure these photos didn't come out muddy, I increased the contrast and decreased the light in my editing process. I also tried to capture the light patterns in the sky/clouds on the last day of shooting.

Multiframe Series

Image
For my multiframe series, I pulled from my archives. I paired these shell photos from my still-life series with other old photos of similar colors and vibes. These paired photos give the still shells a different ~energy~.

Portfolio- Inspired by Ray Metzker

Image
This series is inspired by the work of Ray Metzker. I have adopted the following characteristics of his photographs: - Black and White - Heavy shadows - Bright highlights - Shadow lines cutting the frame - Cityscapes - People as subjects of the photo

Ray Metzker Draft 4

Image
For my fourth draft, I experimented with light and subject-- how i can use light to call attention to the subject in different ways. I also experiemented with taking photos indoors. This series isn't as true to Metzker's work as the others are, but I wanted to adapt his techniques/visual recipe into my own work.
