Ray Metzker Draft 2

For my first draft, I received positive feedback about the dark darks in my photographs. This week, I tried to create even more contrast, more true to Metzker's photos. I tried to "cut" the frame with deep shadows. For my last draft, I focused a lot on storefronts and very head-on views on buildings, but for this draft, I explored more dynamic angles. Again, photos are similar to imitate Metzker's multi-frame work.

Symmetry, Asymmetry, and Balance

This week, I was tasked with composing photographs with symmetry, asymmetry, and balance. Initially, I was tasked to do so with silhouettes but I found this challenging because my options for subjects were limited—I had to shoot into the sun and I only really got buildings and trees. On the last day I was allowed to branch out (no pun intended) because the weather was not ideal for this shoot. Though I tried to keep with this tone by making the other photos black and white. The black and white filter also helps make the photos look symmetrical—it eliminates color as a differentiating factor between the objects. Symmetry was especially hard to find out in the wild becuase nothing is really perfect, but I was able to find things nearly perfect. Symmetry Asymmetry Balance
