For my multiframe series, I pulled from my archives. I paired these shell photos from my still-life series with other old photos of similar colors and vibes. These paired photos give the still shells a different ~energy~.
Class Portraits Ozzie- Ozzie's location and editing process are what defined his project. This is a photo of him in a long ominous hallway, where the light from the window reveals his silhouette. This effect is amplified with the black and white filter, which he also uses. Ozzie uses the mirror effect to bring you to a "different dimension." I also make use of this effect. Danny- Danny was a part of a light painting team. In order to make this photo, I had to change the settings in the camera to a longer exposure and to darken the exposure. We had to find a dark, empty room. Danny did a lot of the painting and that is shown in his skills in drawing the "D!" Pablo- Pablo was part of a light painting team. I used the same camera settings as I did with Danny. I had Pablo light up his face to make it visible in the dark. This series is inspired by the work of Ray Metzker. I have adopted the following characteristics of his photographs: - Black and White - Heavy shadows - Bright highlights - Shadow lines cutting the frame - Cityscapes - People as subjects of the photo
For my first draft, I received positive feedback about the dark darks in my photographs. This week, I tried to create even more contrast, more true to Metzker's photos. I tried to "cut" the frame with deep shadows. For my last draft, I focused a lot on storefronts and very head-on views on buildings, but for this draft, I explored more dynamic angles. Again, photos are similar to imitate Metzker's multi-frame work.
